Subject: Time to start a blog? (I need a service suggestion)
A few years late, I know, but I think it’s time I get around to starting a blog…
Blogs have never really interested me – certainly not as much as message boards, email lists, and other community building technologies. About the only thing that I ever really liked about blogs is that they allow people without html skills to publish content online.
So what’s changed? Well, over the past few months I’ve been dropping loads of links, articles, etc into the message board on my personal website. Although the message board gets around 7000 page views a month, it’s difficult for users to quickly find useful information and hardly anyone posts.
I think I’m using the wrong technology for my audience – they want a blog!
I don’t want to replace my whole site with a blog, just to set up an area where I (and trusted users) can post links to conferences, articles, etc and comment. In future, I might also want to integrate it with my flickr account and possibly throw in a few podcasts.
Can anyone recommend a good blog service, preferrably of the free and hosted by the them variety?
Thanks!

Make sure you include a link to your blog in your reply – I’d like to link to as many e-minters as I can!
