Last November I moved into a house with a huge apple tree, full of over-ripe and rotting fruit. Not only did it make a mess of my garden, but it also seemed quite wasteful.
Fallen Fruit is a Los Angeles based project that provides "fruit alerts" and user contributed maps showing the location of fruit trees accessible from, or overhanging, public land. Apparently plums are currently in season.
Cool idea. I just wonder if anyone will actually put the maps to good use.
