A few weeks ago I blogged about a UK internet libel decision. The defendent in that case, Tracy Williams, now appears to have commented on the original post . I did a quick traceroute on the IP address and it does check out as having been posted by an NTL user in Oldham, Greater Manchester (where Williams is said to be from in the court case against her). The poster, in turn, links to a website that discusses the case, offers some alternative viewpoints on it’s outcome, various evidence, etc.
Regardless, it’s still a precedent setting case in that the claimant successfully sued the defendent, the originator of the posts complained about, rather than the provider of the service.
