Scoopt, the “citizen journalist photo agency”, has launched ScooptWords, a service that will help bloggers sell their content.
“We strongly believe that many bloggers produce content as good as or better than what already appears in newspapers and magazines. But they’re not getting published and they’re not getting paid. We aim to change all that. So, when you sign up to join Scoopt you can send us your newsworthy pictures and videos, as well as your blog details. It’s all part of the same bigger picture: if you create something of value, whether it’s a photograph or a blog post, we can help you find a commercial market for it…”
As the ScooptWords guys tell you in the comments on this post, it’s not like blogburst because you get paid and you still own your stuff… ;-)
Looks like quite a good idea – and although they don’t say so directly it seems clear it was started in the UK. Has anyone you know tried it?
