19th July 2006Robin Hamman 2 Comments

In a short while I’ll be heading off to the launch of eTribes new – well, I’m not sure what it is – online publishing platform. The Independent recently described eTribes as a "British weblog and personal website company" and… Continue Reading →

links: blogging = journalism; 1 in 5 posted content

19th July 2006Robin Hamman

The good people at CyberJournalist have been mining the Pew Internet and American Life project’s newest research findings. There’s little point in my stealing their thunder since they’ve done a good job of pulling out some tantalising tid-bits and have… Continue Reading →

site sells cameraphone snaps to media orgs

19th July 2006Robin Hamman

CellJournalist is the latest of several sites hoping to cash in by making the link between "citizen journalists", or in this case citizen snappers, and mainstream media organisations. That doesn’t, of course, make it bad. Nor does the fact that… Continue Reading →

jarvis calls a truce with dell

19th July 2006Robin Hamman

Did I read that correctly? Jeff Jarvis seems to have called a truce in his blog-mob-war with Dell: "They even wrote to me — yes, grouchy old me. I got an email last week, while on vacation, noting that in… Continue Reading →

Back in April, I posted a review of my new macbook pro and said that it gets hot enough that I could probably fry an egg on it. I knew then that if I could just muster the courage to… Continue Reading →

ny times links to headbutt encouraging

13th July 2006Robin Hamman 1 Comment

Sometimes I feel like I’m running a one man campaign to encourage mainstream media organisations, the one I work for included, to acknowledge and link to the great content that’s already available on the internet. Make no mistake, I really… Continue Reading →

half time score: dell 1, jarvis 1

13th July 2006Robin Hamman

I started keeping tally of Jarvis v Dell, the rematch, yesterday afternoon, when I noticed that Jarvis had decided to go on the offensive against Dell’s new, somewhat half-assed attempt at a customer service blog. I awarded Dell a point… Continue Reading →

my apology for typepad’s hiccup

13th July 2006Robin Hamman

Typepad had a bit of a hiccup yesterday so I’ve had to repost a number of posts. This has not just confused the order of posts here, but has also made my RSS feed look a bit odd. Sorry for… Continue Reading →
