According to a new salary search tool, people employed to blog can now earn more than journalists.
I figured that the research was based on one or two job ads for bloggers compared to thousands of jobs for bloggers but Roland Piquepaille did some research and it turns out the numbers are based on “226 blogger jobs, 1,225 journalist jobs and 4,973 reporter jobs.”
The list of blogger wanted ads is interesting not just for the number of them, but also for the diversity of employers looking for experienced bloggers – they range from from National Public Radio (NPR) to CartridgeValue (yes, it’s about printer cartridges). Looking around a bit sent me to Problogger’s Job Board where I found even more jobs for bloggers.
The bad news? Both bloggers and journalists make quite a bit less than the typical Bachelors degree holder: $55,000 (based on ideal’s database of job ads).
