On Sunday, I’ll be heading off to Paris for Le Web 3, the third Les Blogs conference. I’ll be one of the 1000 bloggers, geeks, start-up wanna-be’s, etc from a remarkable 36 countries taking part part.
Shortly after I blagged a press pass for the event Chris Vallance from BBC Radio 5 Live’s Pods and Blogs phoned to ask if I might record some interviews whilst I’m there and Darren Waters, Technology Editor for BBC News Online asked me to write a rolling column over the two days.
And here I thought I’d spend the week sipping latte, dipping in and out of the sessions and enjoying some apres conference socialising.
If I find the time, I’ll blog a bit here too. If not, do check out the efforts of some of my friends who will be there and no doubt blogging it, including Scott Rafer (a former guest blogger here), Graham “NoodlePie” Holliday, BBC colleague Jem Stone, Simon Grice from eTribes and John Thompson Journalism.co.uk
Other people who blog I’ll be keeping an eye on during the conference are Ewan McIntosh, Lee Bryant from Headshift, researcher Danah Boyd , Technorati’s Dave Sifry and Amanda Lorenzani who writes Excite’s webtwitcher blog.
Here’s the technorati tag for “Le Web” which is already getting hundreds of mentions per day and the technorati results for the Le Web url, currently ranked 25,284.
I’m planning on using “leweb3” as my flickr tag.
