le web 3 sleep deprivation index

Sleep Last night, after I posted my last entry here at around 1am Paris time, I got an email from a concerned BBC Director who suggested, as nicely as possible, that I might want to go to sleep. Such is the nature of blogs that they not only connect with people you never thought they would, but that maintaining the things would become, as Graham and I decided last night, almost as time consuming as having a small child.

The last few days have left me a bit knackered – I reckon I’ve had 12.5 of the 24 hours I should have had of sleep over the past three nights. It is, of course, probably my own fault.

I had a late night on Friday and early morning on Saturday, went to the BBC Backstage Christmas do on Saturday night and got stuck in London only to be saved by Matt who had, thankfully, booked a taxi back to St. Albans. I got home around 3.15 or 3.30am.

Then it was off to Paris for Le Web on Sunday and I met up with Graham for dinner and a guest appearance on Noodle Pie. Well, in spirit, or accidently captured slice of arm, anyway.

Yesterday I ended up blogging late, as I said above, and got up early today for the conference. Will I sleep soon? I sincerely hope so but regular readers will know that my spelling and proof-reading is rarely up to par so I guess that’s a couple of things I can’t blame on being tired.

Thankfully, I didn’t even try to make it to the Le Web 3 “all night party” – I probably would have fallen asleep listening to some start-up kid’s extended pitch for cash. Actually, I almost did that a few times today without the need for it to be late in the night…
