I received the following call for proposals yesterday and, having confirmed it is blogable, am posting the details here since I think it might be a good opportunity for some cybersoc readers. I’m not in any way involved with the project although I know several people who are and I attended two of the AHRC/BBC workshops that helped lead to this:
The Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK) [AHRC] and BBC Future Media and Technology are delighted to announce a Pilot Funding Call for research projects of mutual strategic interest under a Knowledge Exchange Programme.
The AHRC/BBC Knowledge Exchange Programme pilot funding call represents a unique opportunity for individuals or teams of arts and humanities researchers and BBC Future Media and Technology staff to work together on well defined collaborative research and knowledge exchange projects. The benefits from the outcomes and outputs of these projects should be of significance to both partners.
The AHRC/BBC Pilot Knowledge Exchange Programme is intended to support individual or teams of arts and humanities researchers and BBC Future Media and Technology staff to work together on well defined collaborative research and knowledge exchange projects. The benefits from the outcomes and outputs of these projects should be of equal significance to both partners.
Suggested themes and key interests for this pilot funding call are:
* User Generated Content
* Mobile Worlds
* The Open Archive
* Future Formats and Future Audiences
* Interactive Narratives and Digital Storytelling
* Children’s Content and Participatory Environments

The application and peer review processes for the AHRC/BBC Pilot Knowledge Exchange Programme will be conducted in three stages:
