Coming from a place with “proper winters” and scorching hot summers, I rarely appreciate the English weather. When it’s not foggy it’s cloudy, when it’s not cloudy it tends to be rainy, and rarely does the sun come out to really take command of the situation.
Except, that is, for on uncharacteristically warm Spring days like today, where near perfection is achieved.
It’s hot enough to wear shorts, cool enough to get away with a long sleeved shirt. Beer gardens, that quintessentially English thing, are packed with sun-worshipers, and I’m sure that garden centres are also doing a booming business.
It’s on a day like this that I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be than here in England. No doubt it will rain tomorrow and wash all that away but, for now, I’m enjoying a nearly perfect English sun(ny)day.
