a day out with the arts and humanities research council

On Thursday I’m going to an away day at the Tate Modern that has been organised by the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the BBC to get academics and media practicioners working together. I had a look at the wiki this evening and it sounds like an interesting project although it remains to be demonstrated whether it’s worthwhile (I was actually supposed to be in Amsterdam Wed/Thurs… nevermind).

The list of academics is certainly impressive – Professor Ian Christie, half the department of media from Goldsmiths, Professor David Gauntlett who I’ve met before and whose website theory.org.uk has a permanent link to the right, Brian Loader who has written some good books on cyberspace, and Dr David Zeitlyn who if I remember correctly I met at a conference in Bristol in about 1998.
